Getting there and around
Airport SAS runs daily flights to all the major European destinations, either non-stop or via Copenhagen. Most international flights are accessible from Copenhagen. The flight time from Copenhagen to Göteborg is 35 minutes. In addition to SAS, all the major European airlines fly to Göteborg. There are domestic flights to all of Sweden's main cities. Göteborg's biggest airport is Göteborg Landvetter. There is 2 airports in Göteborg: Landvetter International Airport and Göteborg City Airport, which Ryan Air operates.
Göteborg Landvetter Airport is 25 km east of Göteborg. There are coaches from the city centre to Landvetter every 15 minutes. The journey to the airport takes just 20 minutes. Göteborg City Airport is approximately 10 km north-west of Göteborg, near Volvo. The airport serves both charter and private flights.You can get there on one of the airport coaches from the Nils Ericson bus terminal.
Ferries There are ferries to Göteborg from Denmark, Germany and the UK, most with several departures a day.
Train Taking the train is an easy and pleasant way of getting to Göteborg. Many high-speed trains run daily from Sweden’s larger cities. Travel example: Stockholm-Göteborg 3 hrs 10 min, Malmö-Göteborg 2 hrs 50 min.
Bus Several bus companies operate to and from Göteborg. It’s easy to travel abroad by coach from Göteborg, with several departures to Copenhagen, Oslo and other destinations. Travel example: Göteborg-Oslo 4.5 hrs, Göteborg-Copenhagen 4 hrs, Göteborg-Stockholm 6 hrs. Public transport Taking the tram is one of the nicest ways of getting around in Göteborg. The city has 204 trams which operate 11 routes, as well as buses and archipelago ferries. The Älvsnabben ferry provides services along the harbour. The journeys are included in the same public transport ticket. Göteborg also uses the world's most modern system for electronic traffic planning. The city's tram and bus stops have signs showing exactly when the next tram or bus is due. The easiest way is to buy tickets in advance from Tidpunkten or Pressbyrån shops, otherwise you can pay the driver. Travel for free with the Göteborg Pass.

You can even just take a boat out to one of the islets and go bathing.
